Nvidia Lands Hugging Face for $12.93 Billion AI Push
Nvidia is set to strengthen its position in artificial intelligence after announcing a deal to acquire Hugging Face for $12.93 billion.
Hugging Face is an open AI platform that has been used by over 18 million developers, researchers, and content creators, as well as more than 200,000 companies.
The acquisition will give Nvidia access to a large ecosystem of open AI models, datasets, and tools.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that Hugging Face will remain an open platform for the entire AI ecosystem.
Analyst Natalia Milchakova of Freedom Finance Global believes that while the acquisition will be beneficial for Nvidia, it comes with risks due to potential overpayment and cybersecurity concerns.
