NVIDIA Locks Up Dark Fiber Across US for AI Infrastructure Expansion
NVIDIA is acquiring dark fiber across the United States in preparation for its growing demand for AI infrastructure. The company's Q1 FY2027 revenue reached $81.61 billion, a 85.2% increase year over year.
NVDA generated $48.55 billion in free cash flow last quarter and has a trailing P/E of 31.7 with an ROE of 101.5%. This is significantly lower than its optical suppliers such as Coherent, which carries a trailing P/E of 151.06 and an ROE of 4.72%.
NVIDIA's ability to self-fund its infrastructure expansion is seen as a major advantage over companies like CoreWeave, which burned $4.7 billion in free cash flow last quarter with $50.8 billion in total liabilities. The company's confidence in its growth prospects was further underscored by CEO Jensen Huang, who stated that 'there is no scenario where China runs U.S. companies off road.'
