Nvidia is offering attendees of QuakeCon, its 20th anniversary celebration, the chance to buy RTX 5000-series graphics cards at their MSRP. This is a rare opportunity in today's GPU market, where prices have skyrocketed due to high demand and limited supply. The RTX 5080 is now 18% above its true MSRP, with an average US price of $1,250, while the flagship GeForce card, the RTX 5090, is a staggering 94% above MSRP, priced at over $4,000.

Nvidia's decision to sell its latest cards at QuakeCon at their original prices is not new. The company did the same thing last year at GTC, where it handed out the cards from a food truck, albeit with some restrictions on purchasing them.
