Nvidia Offers RTX 50-Series GPUs at Original Launch Prices During QuakeCon
Nvidia has set up a booth at this year's QuakeCon event in Texas, where attendees can purchase RTX 50-series GPUs at their original launch prices. The offer is only available while supplies last and includes Founders Edition graphics cards such as the GeForce RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070.
The RTX 50-series was first announced by Nvidia in Las Vegas at CES 2025 with prices set at $1,999 for the 5090, $999 for the 5080, $749 for the 5070 Ti, and $549 for the 5070. However, due to limited supply and a subsequent memory shortage, these GPUs quickly rose above their MSRP.
According to Tom's Hardware's GPU price tracker, the current best price for the RTX 5090 is $4,381, which is more than double its original launch price of $1,999. The other models in the series are also significantly overpriced, with the RTX 5080 at $1,289 (29% above MSRP), the RTX 5070 Ti at $989 (32% above MSRP), and the RTX 5070 at $629 (14% above MSRP).
