Nvidia Ponders $30 Billion Bet on AI Search Startup Perplexity
Nvidia's potential investment in Perplexity is making waves in the tech world. According to The Information, Nvidia is discussing a possible investment that could value Perplexity at over $30 billion.
This proposed financing would represent a significant increase of more than 50% from Perplexity's previous funding round about a year ago. Despite not disclosing the size of Nvidia's potential investment, this move underscores its growing interest in artificial intelligence search startups.
As it stands, Nvidia already holds an investment in Perplexity and has further solidified their partnership by having the startup agree to use Nvidia's Vera CPUs for AI-agent workloads in July. Prominent backers include Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and SoftBank Group.
