Nvidia Pours $10 Million into Nepal Flood Recovery Efforts
Nvidia, a leader in artificial intelligence technology, has made a significant donation to Nepal's disaster relief efforts. The company donated $10 million to help the country recover from devastating floods and landslides that occurred on August 26.
The donation was driven by more than 50 Nepali employees at Nvidia who urged their company to support relief and reconstruction efforts. Their initiative has drawn attention to a company that is perhaps less familiar outside of the technology industry, but has evolved into one of the world's most important suppliers of computing infrastructure for AI.
Nvidia's graphics processing units (GPUs) are used to train and run AI systems at top tech companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta. The company's market capitalization has risen above $5.5 trillion, making it the world's most valuable publicly traded company.
