Nvidia is in talks to invest up to $3 billion in SB Energy, an infrastructure company backed by SoftBank. The investment will be tied to a data center campus being built for OpenAI in Ohio.

The deal also includes approximately $100 billion of credit support from Nvidia, OpenAI, and SB Energy, with Nvidia potentially paying half of its investment upfront and the rest linked to SB Energy's planned IPO.

This structure allows for contingent obligations that investors may treat as debt-like risk if the project stumbles. The initial guarantee is expected to be less than $120 billion, down from a previously discussed $250 billion.
