Nvidia Pursues $13 Billion Hugging Face Acquisition

Nvidia is in advanced talks to acquire Hugging Face for $12.9 billion, according to The Information. This deal would mark a significant expansion of Nvidia's AI capabilities and solidify its position as a leader in the field.

Hugging Face hosts open-source large language models and datasets, which have attracted major backers including Salesforce and Alphabet's Google. In 2023, these companies invested $235 million in Hugging Face, valuing it at $4.5 billion.

Nvidia had previously attempted to invest in Hugging Face, offering a $500 million investment last year that would have valued the company at $7 billion. However, Hugging Face rejected this offer.
