Nvidia's recent second-quarter fiscal 2027 results were exceptional, with revenue and operating income more than doubling year over year. The company maintained a high 75% gross margin despite a 55% increase in operating expenses.

This was the first quarter since Nvidia raised its quarterly dividend from $0.01 per share to $0.25 per share, a 2,400% increase. As a result, Nvidia paid out $6.05 billion in dividends in the latest quarter, up from just $244 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2027.

Nvidia returned a record $25.78 billion to shareholders through stock buybacks and dividends in total. This is higher than Apple's recent quarterly dividend payout of $4 billion and share buyback amount of $25.95 billion.
