Nvidia Scoops Up Hugging Face for $12.9 Billion

Nvidia has announced its acquisition of Hugging Face for $12.93 billion in a deal expected to close in the first half of 2027 pending regulatory approval.

This move is seen as part of Nvidia's efforts to expand its offerings across various layers of AI, including energy, chips, infrastructure, models, and applications.

Hugging Face CEO Clément Delangue stated that open-source AI has reached an inflection point and requires more compute, support, and visibility.
