Nvidia Secures $500 Billion in Third-Party Funding for AI Infrastructure
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently explained how his company's compute technology can mobilize over $500 billion in third-party funding for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. He stated, 'In AI, compute is revenue.'
The announcement follows the signing of memorandums of understanding between Nvidia and financial giants such as Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, and KKR to build financing platforms for AI infrastructure. These platforms aim to help hyperscalers, AI labs, and enterprises buy compute without tapping their own balance sheets.
Nvidia's revenue grew about 71% over the trailing 12 months, driven by increasing demand for computing power in AI applications. However, there are concerns that if a borrower defaults on a loan backed by Nvidia's compute technology, the collateral may not hold its value due to fluctuations in demand and the rapid pace of technological advancements.
