Nvidia Secures Multiyear Deal with OpenAI in Asia-Pacific AI Expansion
Nvidia has secured another significant win in the burgeoning AI market thanks to OpenAI's latest expansion. The company has signed a multiyear computing deal with Nvidia-backed Firmus, which could accelerate the deployment of Vera Rubin processors across Asia-Pacific data centers.
The agreement will see Firmus provide OpenAI with computing capacity from two Malaysian data centers under a multiyear contract. As anchor customer, OpenAI's commitment gives the project committed demand before capacity is deployed.
Firmus plans to install Nvidia's Vera Rubin processors across its Asia-Pacific data centers, with the deal lifting Firmus' contracted capacity above 900 megawatts. The company operates two AI data centers in Australia and Singapore, with five more under development, and counts Nvidia among its key backers.
