Nvidia Seeks Strategic Partnerships with Startups
Nvidia's venture capital arm is looking for startups that can provide strategic value and align with its goals, not just those with flashy pitches. In an interview with Build Mode, Sydney Sykes, who leads global venture alliances and partnerships at Nvidia, explained how founders can get on the company's radar through programs like Nvidia Inception.
Nvidia Inception is a program that provides startups with access to Nvidia's technology, expertise, and resources. However, not all applicants are accepted into the program. According to Sykes, Nvidia looks for projects that have a strategic fit with its goals and can provide value to the company. She emphasized that corporate venture capital investment differs from traditional venture capital in terms of fundraising, due diligence, and deal terms.
Sykes also shared her experience as an investor at NEA and Lightspeed Venture Partners, and as a co-founder of Black VC. She discussed how the development of artificial intelligence is changing the funding game and highlighted the importance of access and representation in the venture capital space.
