Nvidia Shrugs Off China H200 Sales: Growth Driven by Other Markets
Nvidia has started shipping its H200 processors to China under a new US licensing scheme. The chips account for less than 1% of the company's $89 billion in quarterly data centre revenue. Despite this, Nvidia expects to reach $108 billion in revenue for the current quarter, with no contribution from China.
The company's forecast assumes that it will not generate any revenue from data centre computing in China. This is significant because the US licensing scheme allows Nvidia to export H200 chips to China. The lack of revenue contribution from China suggests that the company's growth is being driven by other markets.
Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, stated that the unconstrained growth would be higher than the 70% figure guided for next year. This implies that the company has significant untapped potential in its existing markets.
