Nvidia Soars Ahead of AMD in Revenue Growth
Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) are two leading companies in the artificial intelligence sector. Nvidia has consistently demonstrated stronger overall revenue performance, establishing a higher baseline compared to AMD.
In the last eight quarters, both companies have shown consistent quarter-over-quarter revenue growth, but their trajectories differ significantly. Investors should keep an eye on whether AMD can narrow its widening revenue gap with Nvidia or if the divergence continues in upcoming quarters.
Nvidia generates most of its revenue from designing and supplying advanced graphics, compute, and networking solutions used across gaming and high-performance computing ecosystems worldwide. The company recently partnered with the Japanese government to launch a national infrastructure factory, reporting a 72% net income margin for the quarter ended April 26, 2026.
Nvidia's revenue has grown significantly, reaching $81.6 billion in Q2 2026, while AMD's revenue has remained relatively steady at around $10-11 billion per quarter. Although AMD has demonstrated consistent year-over-year sales growth, its quarterly basis is not as impressive as Nvidia's.
The large discrepancy between the two companies' revenues suggests that Nvidia dominates the industry. With the sales gap only widening over time, it appears unlikely that AMD will catch up to its competitor anytime soon.
