Nvidia Soars as Elon Musk Endorses Company for Computing Units
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, recently endorsed Nvidia as his preferred choice for computing units in both companies. During the Q2 conference call, Musk stated that his companies will build exclusively on Nvidia's architecture due to its superiority.
The Vera Rubin architecture, released by Nvidia, offers a tenfold reduction in inference token cost and a fourfold decrease in the number of GPUs required to train an AI model compared to previous architectures. This improvement is expected to boost Nvidia's revenue as companies deploy more efficient computing capacity with fewer GPUs.
Nvidia outperformed AMD in recent financial reports, with its total revenue rising 106% and data center revenue increasing 117%. In contrast, AMD's total revenue rose 50%, while data center revenue increased an impressive 107%. Nvidia is also significantly cheaper than AMD, trading at nearly three times the lower price.
Musk's endorsement of Nvidia is significant, given his experience with both Tesla and SpaceX. His preference for Nvidia's technology over AMD suggests that the company's future growth may outperform its competitor.
