Nvidia Stock Slumps on Paused Financing Program for AI Cloud Companies
Nvidia's stock dipped 1.5% on Friday morning after the chipmaker paused parts of its AI Compute Partnership financing program due to disagreements over customer restrictions.
The initiative aimed to help smaller cloud providers finance Nvidia-powered infrastructure, with the company potentially receiving a share of revenue generated from that capacity and leasing computing resources back when needed.
However, some potential partners objected to Nvidia seeking greater influence over which customers could use the systems, while employees raised concerns about increased regulatory and antitrust risks.
