Nvidia Stock Surges Ahead of Earnings Report as Price Hikes Loom
Nvidia's stock rose nearly 1% in overnight trading after a challenging week on the market, with trends pointing to a mixed setup ahead of its earnings report on Wednesday.
The development is attributed to several factors, including reports that Nvidia will increase prices for systems by more than 15% starting in early 2027 due to surging memory prices. This move affects companies building servers under contract for large data center operators such as Microsoft and Google.
Nvidia has also struck a deal with AI startup Poolside to build open-weight AI models, competing with China's DeepSeek and Kimi K3. The company will invest $1 billion in Poolside and pay $6 billion to license the startup's technology and hire most of its engineers.
