Nvidia Surges Ahead as World's Most Active VC Investor in AI Boom
Nvidia has become the world's most active venture capital investor, participating in at least 53 funding rounds worth over $100 million through the first eight months of 2026.
This is a significant shift for the company, which only participated in one such round five years ago. Nvidia's equity investments were valued at approximately $99 billion as of July 26, up from roughly $7 billion a year earlier.
The company has also moved closer to infrastructure finance, partnering with firms like BlackRock and Apollo to mobilize over $500 billion of third-party capital for AI infrastructure.
Nvidia's dominance in the AI ecosystem is not limited to its technology; it is also becoming a major player in the financial infrastructure that supports it. The company's balance sheet is becoming an integral part of the product, with customers choosing between ecosystems that incorporate chips, networking, software, cloud capacity, developer support, and capital.
