Nvidia has become an enormous force in the market, accounting for approximately 8% of the S&P 500's total market capitalization. This dominance is largely due to its position at the forefront of the AI boom.

The chipmaker's market value exceeds that of five combined sectors: energy, utilities, real estate, consumer staples, and materials. It also surpasses every sector except information technology, communication services, financials, health care, and consumer discretionary.

Nvidia's historic rise has been nothing short of remarkable. Its market cap now accounts for 16.3% of U.S. GDP, according to data shared by The Kobeissi Letter on X.

The company has been vying with Apple for the title of world's most valuable company since 2024. After repeatedly trading places, Nvidia currently holds the top spot with a market cap of $5.41 trillion, ahead of Apple's $4.74 trillion.
