Nvidia Surpasses Apple to Become Norway's Top Equity Holding
Nvidia's dominance in the global computing market has been further solidified as Norway's Government Pension Fund Global revealed its top equity holding. The fund, which holds stakes across roughly 7,100 listed companies globally, now counts Nvidia as its single largest equity holding, with a stake valued at 612 billion Norwegian kroner as of June 30.
This puts Nvidia ahead of virtually every other corporate giant in one of the world's biggest investment portfolios. Apple ranked second at 522 billion kroner, while Alphabet followed closely behind at 499 billion kroner.
Nvidia's position is not just a result of aggressive AI betting by the fund manager, but rather a mathematical consequence of Nvidia becoming so enormous that an index-oriented global portfolio cannot avoid having significant exposure to the stock. The company's strong growth and financial strength have contributed to its elite status, with GuruFocus giving it a GF Score of 95 out of 100.
The obvious weak spot for Nvidia is its GF Value, which trails the other four categories by a wide margin. This highlights the tension investors face: Nvidia continues to look like an elite business, but its valuation already assumes plenty of future dominance.
