Nvidia Ties Up $250 Billion Financing Deal for OpenAI's Giant Ohio AI Project
Nvidia is reportedly negotiating financing guarantees worth around $250 billion for OpenAI's massive Ohio AI data center project. The total project costs could surpass $500 billion after infrastructure and hardware investments.
The proposed facility, being developed by SB Energy, a subsidiary of SoftBank, will be one of the world's largest AI facilities. It will have a capacity of 10 gigawatts, with the first phase expected to finish by 2028, delivering around 800 megawatts.
Nvidia is separately discussing financing arrangements for OpenAI's chip purchases, which could total up to $350 billion. The combined costs for the entire project are expected to exceed $500 billion once construction concludes.
