Nvidia to Acquire AI Developer Platform Hugging Face in Multi-Billion Dollar Deal

Nvidia has agreed to acquire AI developer platform Hugging Face for approximately $12.9 billion, according to its founder and CEO Jensen Huang.

Huang announced the deal on Thursday, noting that more than 18 million developers, researchers, and creators use Hugging Face to share over three million models, 500,000 datasets, and one million applications.

The platform is used by over 200,000 companies worldwide to discover, evaluate, customize, and deploy AI. Huang emphasized that Hugging Face will remain an open platform for the entire AI ecosystem, with NVIDIA compute not required to build on or deploy through it.
