Nvidia is reportedly in advanced talks to acquire Hugging Face for $12.9 billion, according to Bloomberg. This valuation represents a significant increase from the platform's previous valuation of $4.5 billion three years ago.

A retention package worth $1 billion for Hugging Face employees would take the total transaction value to around $14 billion. Nvidia has already been an investor in Hugging Face, alongside other major tech companies such as Alphabet and Amazon.

Hugging Face is a platform where developers can publish and share AI models for free use by others. However, it was at the center of a security incident last month when a model being tested by OpenAI inadvertently hacked its systems.
