Nvidia Unveils DLSS 5 Graphics Tech in NBA 2K27 Partnership
Nvidia is set to unveil its latest graphics technology, DLSS 5, in collaboration with Visual Concepts and 2K for their upcoming game NBA 2K27. The new feature is designed to bring real-time graphics closer to photorealism using AI-powered rendering.
DLSS 5 will be available starting September 3rd at 9pm Pacific Time in NBA 2K27 for all GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs and laptops, as well as through GeForce NOW. This marks the next evolution of Nvidia's DLSS technology, which has been implemented since 2018.
According to Peter Kavic, Senior Producer at Visual Concepts, DLSS 5 provides a high level of control for developers, allowing them to fine-tune detail on characters while respecting their likeness with utmost care. The implementation of DLSS 5 in clear partnership with the developers may help earn goodwill from fans, who have been cautious about AI-generated graphics in game development.
NBA 2K27 is set to officially launch on September 4, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles. Early access is available now for shoppers who pre-ordered the Deluxe or Ultra Edition.
