Nvidia Weighs $10 Billion Bet on Record-Breaking Anthropic IPO
Anthropic is gearing up for what could be the largest initial public offering (IPO) in history, potentially raising as much as $100 billion. The company, founded just five years ago, has already surpassed a revenue run rate of $65 billion as of July 2026, with plans to reach $190 billion to $200 billion by 2028. Nvidia is reportedly considering investing up to $10 billion in Anthropic's IPO.
The valuation for Anthropic could reach around $2 trillion, making it one of the most valuable AI unicorns in history. The company's business model relies heavily on enterprise API calls, with its flagship product Claude Code driving growth. Despite high costs, Anthropic has managed to achieve a positive adjusted operating profit of about $559 million in the second quarter of 2026.
The IPO timetable has been delayed due to increased scrutiny from the public market, which requires audited financials and transparency. To withstand pressure from outside shareholders, Anthropic plans to grant shares with extra voting rights to its co-founders and retain its existing governance structure.
