Nvidia's $91 Billion Guidance Faces Test as Analysts Expect Modest Beat
Nvidia is set to report its fiscal 2027 second quarter results next Wednesday, August 26. The company's guidance for this period stands at $91 billion, with a range of plus-or-minus 2%. Wall Street analysts have an average estimate near $91.9 billion, based on the 42 analyst estimates compiled by Yahoo! Finance.
This relatively small gap between Nvidia's guidance and Wall Street's estimate is notable, especially given the company's history of exceeding expectations. In its fiscal first quarter, Nvidia reported revenue above its guided range, with a growth rate of 85% year-over-year and 20% sequentially.
Nvidia's adjusted earnings per share have consistently topped analysts' estimates over the past four quarters, with analysts nudging this quarter's numbers higher in recent weeks. If the company repeats last quarter's outperformance, revenue could approach $95 billion, well above both its guidance and Wall Street's estimate.
The company's stance on China data center compute revenue is also worth noting. Nvidia does not assume any licensed China revenue in its outlook, which means that any such revenue would be reported as an exception to this rule.
