Nvidia's AGI Declaration: Astra Marks New Era for AI
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced on social media that artificial general intelligence (AGI) has arrived, citing OpenAI's latest model GPT-6 Astra as a milestone in AI development.
Huang congratulated OpenAI on the launch of Astra, which has been trained using over 100,000 Nvidia Grace Blackwell NVLink72 systems. This vast computing power is required to develop frontier AI models like Astra.
Astra has achieved leading performance across various tasks, including computer use, software engineering, cybersecurity, science, and professional work. It scored 98% on FrontierMath Tier 4 and 99.9% on ARC-AGI-3, with a perfect score on ExploitBench.
Huang noted that Astra was developed in just four years, starting from the launch of ChatGPT. Another 400,000 Nvidia GPUs are coming online to support further AI development.
