Nvidia's AI Financing Risks Spark Market Warning from Mark Cuban

Nvidia's role in the AI boom has turned it into a central node in a highly leveraged and interconnected system, warns billionaire Mark Cuban.

Cuban compared Nvidia to the IPO machine of the dot-com era, arguing that instead of issuing stocks, Nvidia is funding everyone and anyone through its aggressive artificial intelligence financing.

Nvidia has already committed over $40 billion to AI investments in early 2026, including huge stakes and financing packages tied to OpenAI, Corning, and Iren. Deals like the proposed $100 billion OpenAI data center plan and multi-billion-dollar SPV structures for xAI rely on GPUs as collateral.

Cuban's warning is that if Nvidia's AI financing creates ecosystem risk, a misstep in the market could expose the fact that too much infrastructure was built too fast. This could lead to credit stress spreading far beyond tech stocks into lenders and institutions that financed the data center boom.
