Nvidia's AI Funding Spree Raises Concerns Over Sector's Sustainability
Mark Cuban has compared Nvidia to an IPO machine from the dot-com era, 'funding everyone and anyone.'
Nvidia's investments are significant, with $42.3 billion in private investments and another $27 billion of contingent investment commitments.
The company is investing in AI model developers like OpenAI and Anthropic, cloud operators such as CoreWeave (CRWV) and Nebius Group (NBIS), and technology suppliers including Intel, Synopsys, Nokia, and Coherent.
Cuban's warning is not a blanket argument against AI stocks. Large cloud providers and profitable AI chip and networking players can fund much of their spending from existing operations.
