Nvidia's AI Graphics Feature Leaked, Causes 'Generic' Game Look

Nvidia's new DLSS 5 feature, which uses AI to improve video game visuals, has been leaked in an unfinished version. The results are alarming, with modders testing it on various games and finding that it can make them look distorted and generic.

One user tested the feature on Halo: Combat Evolved and shared a viral video showing the cutscene's original aesthetic being completely overhauled by the AI tech. The colors appear blotchy, faces are rendered in hyperrealistic detail, and the overall effect is described as 'a deep fried meme.'

When the settings are cranked up to maximum, even the best-case scenario results in a generic-looking game.

The feature also causes significant frame rate drops. In one instance, a user reported that their frames per second were cut in half when running DLSS 5 on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Another user experienced a drop from 90 to 29 frames per second while playing GTA V.
