Nvidia's Anti-Mod Efforts Fail: Users Unlock DLSS Multi-Frame Generation on RTX 40 Series GPUs

The updates were seen as an attempt by Nvidia to prevent the use of DLSS Multi-Frame Generation on older hardware, citing technical limitations. However, users have been able to unlock the feature using various mods and workarounds.

A recent video demonstrated how to enable DLSS Multi-Frame Generation on an RTX 4060 GPU, with surprisingly smooth frame pacing reported by users.

The emergence of these mods coincides with Nvidia's contentious rollout of DLSS 5 'Neural Rendering', which was initially pitched as an RTX 50-series exclusive before being made available for older hardware. Some speculate that Nvidia may pivot on DLSS Multi-Frame Generation in a similar manner, potentially allowing it to run on non-Blackwell hardware.
