Nvidia's Data Center Dominance Fuels AI Growth Predictions
Nvidia's revenue has shifted dramatically in recent years, with data center sales making up 92% of its total revenue. The company reported $75.2 billion in data center revenue for its fiscal first quarter of 2027, which ended April 26, 2026.
According to CEO Jensen Huang, this is just the beginning of the AI build-out, and he believes the semiconductor industry needs to grow ten times larger. In a recent interview, Huang stated that the demand for AI spending is infrastructure-driven rather than consumer-driven, making it less prone to cyclical downturns.
However, investors are growing concerned about a potential slowdown in AI infrastructure spending. If hyperscalers pull back on their capex guidance, it could significantly impact Nvidia's earnings. The company's revenue concentration is also a risk factor, as three direct customers account for 54% of its revenue.
