Nvidia's DLSS 5 Hits Performance by 50-60% in NBA 2K27

Nvidia's DLSS 5 technology is set to launch on September 3 in NBA 2K27, offering improved photorealism through AI-generated images.

The technology uses a 3D-bound neural rendering technique that draws an image on top of the rendered frame using geometry and color data from the game.

Nvidia claims DLSS 5 will not add extra elements to the scene or misplace objects, but the company also warns that enabling the tech will hit performance by around 50-60% in NBA 2K27.

To offset this impact, Nvidia recommends enabling other parts of the DLSS software suite, such as super resolution and frame generation, to maintain a high frame rate.
