Nvidia's Growth Limitations: Can It Keep Scaling?
Nvidia's meteoric rise to a $5 trillion market cap has some investors wondering if it can keep growing. The semiconductor company has consistently delivered high revenue growth, with an 85% increase in its first quarter of fiscal 2027.
However, its massive size is a limiting factor on further growth. If someone invested $10,000 in Nvidia today and the market cap reached $500 trillion, that investment would reach $1 million. But reaching such a high valuation seems unlikely, especially considering the U.S. economy's annual output of around $32 trillion.
Nvidia's 32 P/E ratio is not far above the 29 average earnings multiple of the S&P 500, and analysts forecast an 82% growth rate for fiscal 2027 that will slow to 43% in the next fiscal year. While Nvidia may still outperform the overall market, it's unlikely to become a millionaire-maker stock for individual investors.
