Nvidia's Next Big Investment: A Potential Partner in AI Energy
Nvidia, the leader in AI chips and the world's most valuable company with a market cap of $5.5 trillion, has invested in eight stocks through its recent 13-F filing. These investments total $63.4 billion and give Nvidia exposure to various AI companies.
The list includes Intel, which Nvidia bought at its low point as part of a partnership for data center and personal computing products; Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX), with whom Nvidia has a close relationship, particularly in the development of AI architecture; CoreWeave and Nebius, leading neocloud stocks that buy Nvidia's chips to rent out AI compute; Coherent, which provides optical connectivity for AI infrastructure; Nokia, in which Nvidia invested $1 billion to lead the transition from 5G to 6G and accelerate AI-radio access network technology; Synopsys, a company that tests microchips before manufacturing them, which will help Nvidia's chip design and engineering simulations; and Generate Biomedicines, where Nvidia gained exposure to generative biology.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently stated that AI needs 1,000 times more power than currently available. Bloom Energy, a hydrogen fuel-cell company with quarterly revenues of over $1 billion, has signed a $25 billion partnership with Brookfield Asset Management for AI infrastructure power. Given this, it would make sense for Nvidia to invest in an AI energy company like Bloom.
