Nvidia's PAIR Tool Enables Household Data Centers for Agentic AI Tasks
Nvidia has introduced PAIR, a tool that allows users to create a household data center for running agentic AI tasks. The Personal AI Router enables users to utilize idle Mac computers or PCs on their home network to speed up small language models and agentic workloads.
PAIR works by distributing subtasks across available GPU resources, ensuring efficient task completion. It can handle multiple computers with graphics processing units and will redistribute workload if a node becomes unavailable.
The system is relatively easy to set up and supports cluster connections through LM Studio or Ollama. PAIR can run on systems featuring DGX Spark, GeForce RTX 20-series, or newer hardware, as well as Mac computers with M4-series processors or later chips.
