Nvidia's Q2 Earnings: Forward Number Takes Center Stage
Nvidia is set to report its Q2 2027 earnings on Wednesday, and while the quarter may be largely priced in, the forward number is what investors are really looking at. The street consensus for Q3 2027 revenue sits near $104B, representing a sequential acceleration of around 12% from the previous quarter.
This would be an unusual move this late in a growth cycle, and a guide at or above that level would suggest the capex cycle is still compounding. However, a guide meaningfully below it would be the first real evidence of a ceiling.
Three key factors will decide the market's reaction: whether Nvidia can maintain its 75% gross margin despite rising memory costs and the ramp-up of Blackwell Ultra; whether the Q2 guidance assumes zero China revenue; and how investors interpret Nvidia's expanding financing role in its customer base, which now includes a $500B+ third-party capital platform.
