Nvidia's RTX Pro 5500 Fills Performance Gap with Massive Memory Boost
Nvidia has released the RTX Pro 5500 Workstation Edition graphics card, which offers similar specifications to the GeForce RTX 5090 but with a significantly larger memory capacity.
The new card features 84GB of GDDR7 memory, 2.6 times more than the Blackwell gaming flagship, and uses the same GB202 silicon as other high-end mainstream and professional graphics cards from Nvidia.
The RTX Pro 5500's performance is comparable to the GeForce RTX 5090, with 21,760 CUDA cores and a boost clock of 2.7 GHz, but its memory subsystem sets it apart.
Nvidia achieved this large memory capacity by using 28 GDDR7 memory chips in a clamshell configuration, which delivers up to 1,398 GB/s of bandwidth.
