Nvidia's Strong Q2 Growth Validates AI Infrastructure Bet

Nvidia's latest financials have investors enthused, and the stock has risen 8.7% following a strong second quarter. Revenue surged due to robust artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure buildout, with data center revenue rising 18% sequentially to $89 billion.

The company's AI factory platform is expanding its addressable data center opportunity, with Vera Rubin shipping in full production this month and expected to achieve the fastest product ramp in Nvidia history. Management estimates a $20 billion opportunity in the overall server CPU market and expects CPU revenue to more than double by fiscal 2028.

Nvidia's near-term margin concerns are pressuring gross margins, but its valuation remains attractive at around 24 times forward earnings. The company's strong growth trajectory, expanding AI opportunity, and favorable long-term outlook for AI infrastructure continue to outweigh near-term margin pressures.
