NYS Supreme Court Interns Gain Leadership Insights from Boeing Executive
New York State Supreme Court judicial interns spent their summer learning from judges and legal professionals in various fields. The internship program has expanded over the years, with more than 400 high school, undergrad, and law students participating this summer.
Interns observed court proceedings, visited appellate courts, and assisted with legal research and drafting under the guidance of experienced judges. They also participated in 'Lunch and Learn' sessions, where they heard from guest speakers on a range of topics, including commercial litigation, transaction law, aviation law, insurance, criminal, family, and entertainment law.
One such speaker was Mark Fava, a Vice President and Ombudsman at Boeing. He spoke to the interns about success, integrity in leadership, and the importance of mentorship. Fava shared stories from his military and private practice career, emphasizing the value of finding a positive mentor and seeking counsel from those with more experience.
