Oakland Legion Renovates Bathrooms with Community Help
Oakland's Decker-Simmons American Legion Post #51 has undergone significant renovations over the summer, led by Vice Commander John Palmer. The team demolished the old bathroom in the rental hall and built a new, larger, and ADA-compliant set of bathrooms. This upgrade is expected to improve the overall experience for event-goers.
The project was made possible through donations from local businesses, including F.W. Webb, The Home Depot, Oakland Electrical Supply, Zimba Co., Sherwin-Williams, Gregory's Disposal, Stanley's Septic & Construction, and Jeff and Lisa Stevens.
According to the post, the new bathrooms are a significant improvement for those using the hall for functions such as birthdays, anniversaries, and celebrations of life. The upgrade makes hosting events at the hall a more enjoyable experience.
