Oberle Academy Unveils New Mural Celebrating Student Growth
A new mural has been unveiled at the Oberle Academy in Culpeper, Virginia. The artwork was designed by local artists Gabe Pons of PONSHOP Studio & Gallery and Sophia Pineda (Sophiola) and features a design inspired by the school's student body.
The idea for the mural began through conversations between President & CEO Al Fagan and Oberle student Allen, who expressed his love of butterflies, wildlife, and nature. The finished mural reflects growth and transformation, symbolic of the student body.
The project was a community effort, with Gabe and Sophia donating their time and talent, and Sherwin-Williams donating paint and materials to help bring the vision to life. School leaders also recognize the community members who showed up for the school and took time out of their schedules to paint during Community Paint Days.
