Ohalo Genetics CEO Swaps Weekend- Built CRM for Salesforce
Ohalo Genetics' CEO David Friedberg recently shared an unexpected story on the All-In podcast and Salesforce's earnings call. Despite building a customer relationship management (CRM) system over a weekend using Claude Code and Cursor, Friedberg opted to purchase Salesforce instead. He noted that maintaining reliability, accounts, security, permissions, and data protection becomes significantly more complex when scaling up.
Friedberg prioritized time and funds for proprietary workflows such as plant breeding software and farm customer development, believing these are the differentiators. He acknowledged that there's no need to reinvent cross-industry infrastructure, just like how companies don't want to recreate Slack or Gmail.
