A northeastern Ohio business has taken drastic measures to address what it claims is a damaging Google review. On August 12, Starr Manufacturing Inc., which builds oil and gas production equipment in Vienna, filed a defamation lawsuit against a Columbus woman in Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas.

The complaint alleges that the woman knowingly published false and defamatory allegations about Starr Manufacturing Inc. in a March Google review, causing significant reputational harm to the company.

According to the filing, none of the woman's claims are true, and the company has sustained damages due to the review. The lawsuit further states that the company believes the woman will continue to post false allegations if not stopped by a court.

The woman in question is not a customer of Starr Manufacturing Inc., according to the complaint. The company is seeking over $25,000 in damages, along with attorney fees and other costs.
