Ohio Business Sues Woman Over One-Star Google Review

A northeastern Ohio business is suing a Columbus woman over a one-star Google review that she wrote.

Starr Manufacturing Inc., a company in Vienna, Ohio, that builds oil and gas production equipment, filed a defamation lawsuit against the woman in Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas on August 12.

The lawsuit claims the woman 'knowingly, maliciously, and intentionally' published 'false' and 'defamatory' allegations against the company in a Google review in March.

The review in question states that Starr Manufacturing's work has faced quality control issues due to poor subcontracting practices, resulting in costly field updates and reputational harm.
