A manufacturer in Ohio is suing a woman for allegedly posting a fake one-star Google review. Starr Manufacturing Inc., which makes gas production equipment, claims that Julie Watson knowingly and intentionally posted false statements about the company's quality control issues.

The review in question was posted under Watson's name in March on Google, but the full text of the review is not reproduced in the complaint. According to The Independent, the review stated that Starr's work had faced numerous quality control issues due to poor subcontracting and lack of oversight.

Starr Manufacturing Inc. is seeking over $25,000 in damages, as well as a court order barring Watson from publishing false statements about the company in the future. The company claims that the review has caused significant reputational harm and that Watson was never a customer of Starr.
