An Ohio-based manufacturing company, Starr Manufacturing Inc., has filed a lawsuit against a woman from Columbus over a scathing 1-star Google review. The complaint alleges that the review contained malicious, false, and defamatory accusations that caused significant reputational harm to the company.

The review was published in March of this year, and the company claims it has suffered damages, including expenses incurred and special damages, as a result. Starr Manufacturing Inc. is seeking compensatory and punitive damages exceeding $25,000, as well as attorney fees and litigation costs.

The lawsuit also expresses concern that the defendant will continue to post false allegations online. The woman in question has published 11 Google reviews in total, with one being from this year and another from two years ago, while the rest were published more than six years ago.
