Ohio Nonprofit Continues Flood Relief Efforts in Harrison

A nonprofit organization in Harrison, Ohio is continuing to help residents affected by historic flooding along the Whitewater River. Nearly three weeks after the floodwaters receded, Pathways to Home has been distributing cleaning supplies and non-perishable foods to those in need.

According to Elizabeth Marlowe, Partnership Development Coordinator for Pathways to Home, the organization collected donations immediately after the flooding and is still collecting more items. Their first stop was in Connersville, Indiana, where they gave away a second round of supplies on Wednesday.

Judy Kendall, a Harrison resident who lost her entire basement to floodwaters, expressed her gratitude for the help from Pathways to Home. 'Has it been horrendous? Yes. Has it been emotional? Absolutely. Has it been humbling? More so than I believe I've ever been humbled,' she said.

Pathways to Home is still collecting donations and plans to be back at the Harrison VFW next week for another giveaway. The nonprofit is in need of more cleaning supplies, mops, brooms, and gift cards to hardware stores like Home Depot.
