Ohio State Ranks Second Among Most Beautiful College Campuses
Ohio State University has been ranked as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country. A study by SIXT, an international provider of mobility services, placed OSU at number two on a list of 150 colleges and universities across the US.
The study evaluated each campus using a weighted scoring system, with historic architecture and green spaces being the most significant elements, accounting for 25% of the overall score. While Ohio State did not have any buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, its impressive 27 named quads and green spaces helped vault it to the top spot.
Google reviews contributed 20% to the ranking, while the length of pedestrian paths per 1,000 students made up 15%. Ohio State had a 4.5-star Google review rating, second only to Indiana University Bloomington at number one and the University of Arkansas at number ten.
The study also found that campus acreage contributed 10% to the overall score, with Ohio State ranking in the bottom 10 schools with 29 acres per 1,000 students. The top institution in this category was Stanford University at number five, with 449 acres.
